This past weekend Garrett’s brother and sister came for a quick visit. It was a wonderful chance to get to catch up on the details of life and get rowdy playing board games. It was Thomas’s first visit to San Antonio so we had to play tourist and say hello to The Alamo and eat some lunch on The Riverwalk. It was also a fun opportunity to take them on the boat tour and have a chance to sit and learn some facts about the city. Garrett and I still geek out over the fact that we get a local discount. We have gone three different times so far (my favorite being at Christmas time) but each guide has a different take on things and it really is a fun little thing to experience.
I had a list of places we could go on my mind but we ended up grabbing supplies at HEB and coming back home so Thomas could do some baking. Quality over quantity is definitely our theme so the afternoon worked out beautifully. Garrett made his knock out potato wedges which are definitely a labor of love. We piled up together to feast and watch a movie on the laptop. (Just another perk of not having a TV in my opinion.) And then followed up with a few games of bowling. It took a couple of tries because bowling on a Saturday night is prime time, but with a little persistence we found a place where we didn’t have to wait at all. The night ended with Elizabeth leaving us behind in a blaze of glory with four strikes in a row.
I snapped a few photos with my phone.
Needless to say, we loved getting to see these two and are thankful for a fun weekend!
Talk soon, friends!
